Buy Now Pay Later apps may not be the sexiest apps to talk about, but a lot of people use them, and want to know how to use Sezzle on Amazon.
First of all, what even is Sezzle?
What is Sezzle?
Sezzle is a buy-now, pay-later (BNPL) service that allows consumers to make purchases and pay for them over time with interest-free installments. It is designed to provide an alternative to traditional credit cards by offering a way to manage cash flow more easily.
How Sezzle Works:
- Sign Up: To use Sezzle, you first need to sign up for an account, either through their website or mobile app. The sign-up process includes a soft credit check, which does not affect your credit score.
- Shop: Sezzle partners with various online and in-store merchants. When you shop at these retailers, you can choose Sezzle as your payment method at checkout.
- Pay in Installments:
- Initial Payment: At the time of purchase, you pay 25% of the total cost.
- Installment Plan: The remaining balance is split into three equal payments, each due every two weeks.
- Interest-Free: As long as you make your payments on time, there are no interest charges or hidden fees.
- Reschedule Payments: Sezzle offers flexibility by allowing users to reschedule one of their payments per order for free.
- Credit Building (Optional): Sezzle has a feature called Sezzle Up, which allows users to report their payment history to credit bureaus, potentially helping to build their credit score.
Sezzle is popular among consumers who prefer not to use credit cards or who want to avoid paying interest on purchases. It’s often used for managing cash flow or making larger purchases more affordable by breaking the cost into smaller payments.
Sezzle Reviews
According to Sezzle, a recent report says 2.6 million active consumers transacted with Sezzle in the last twelve months. Sezzle generated $1.8 billion in underlying merchant sales during the same time period.
Seems like a lot of people use Sezzle.
Reddit user nash1407 says, “I’ve used it once. They require your credit card info and charge the monthly installments to that card each month. You will get a text or email each month a couple days before the payment is due. No action needed on your part, though. The payment is automatic.”
FeltCute_ says, “It’s good for emergency purchases. Sezzle offers Instacart, Walmart, and such. I’ve had to use it for groceries when we had unexpected bills and needed food. I’ve used it to help purchase a new washer when ours died as well. And there is no Interest like a credit card and you can pay off early if you want. It’s great for those of us that don’t want credit cards and can’t drop large amounts at once or wait to save up.”
Some, however, haven’t had great experiences.
“I’ve used Klarna, Sezzle, Afterpay, and PayPal’s pay in 4 pretty often. The only one I’ve had issues with is Sezzle, when I canceled my order and they kept trying to charge me, eventually sending the account to collections. I had contacted both the vendor and sezzle and they could not get their sh*t figured out,” shared Visual_Tax473.
Others warn that the app’s structure may make you feel like you can afford something you actually can’t.
“Think of it as buying on credit – not a good idea if you can’t afford something,” says Raphy000.
Only use Sezzle if you have budgeted for the payments.
